Let your child experience the fun of learning together with friends! Focusing on Language Arts, children will engage in Reader's Theater, buddy reading, peer-editing writing and more! Geared for second and third graders, this part-time tutoring class gives children extra support and instruction where they need it most. Classes will be held twice a month on Mondays, from 10am-12pm. LIFT will meet in northwest Gainesville. Drop your child off and go grocery shopping at Hunter’s Crossing Publix, catch up on emails at Starbucks, or take your other children to Possum Creek Park—all are just seconds away from our conveniently located meeting spot. Each session consists of four meetings, each lasting two hours. Sessions will consist of teacher read aloud mentor books and class analysis, direct instruction, exciting literacy games, buddy reading, engaging activities and more. Students will also have writing instruction, peer editing and review, and a chance to share their writing with the class. Total cost per session is $200. Payments are due in full at time of registration and are nonrefundable. Refunds will not be given under any circumstances. Should the instructor have to cancel class for an unforeseen reason, a make-up session will be offered.
