Provider description
As a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) instructor, my mission is to give your child the skills to handle the water with confidence and safety. Your child can learn these lifesaving skills in about 6-8 weeks of private lessons, focusing on your child's developmental and unique capabilities. Babies 6–15 months (pre-walkers): learn to roll from a face-down position in the water onto their back to rest and breathe. They are taught to maintain this stable, buoyant position until help arrives. This is the basic most important survival skill. Toddlers 16-23 months (walkers): Learn the "swim-rollback-float". Your toddler will learn to swim a short distance and then independently roll onto their back and float when they need air and rest. They can also learn to turn around and kick to reach the wall or steps. Kids Approx 2-6 yrs old: At this age, the focus shifts from basic survival to functional swimming and critical thinking. Your child will be mastering the "Swim-Float-Swim" sequence. They learn to swim with their face in the water, roll onto their back to rest and breathe, and then flip back over to continue the sequence until they reach the wall or steps. Your child will practice skills to handle unexpected situations with a calm, practiced response. In ISR we use a "Short and Frequent" model based on how young children learn best to build muscle memory and ensure skill retention: SHORT LESSONS - 4 DAYS A WEEK - FOR ABOUT 6 WEEKS
