Farm School at Violette Hill Farm offers a unique, hands-on learning experience for children of all ages to engage with farm animals and the agricultural world. Each week brings new, practical lessons on farm life and animal care, while helping children learn valuable skills, build confidence, and enjoy the outdoors. Our engaging, hands-on approach ensures every class is a fun and educational adventure! Our unique Animal Husbandry Program includes: 30-Minute Lesson: A focused lesson where students will learn essential information about farm animals, from basic care to livestock science. 15-Minute Game: A quick and fun icebreaker activity. Games are designed to encourage teamwork and learning through play. 30-Minute Lab: The hands-on portion of the class. Making butter in a jar, hatching eggs, making farm animals snack and so much more. 30-Minute Outside Project: Meet farm animals, practice animal care, feed self-made treats, collect eggs, brush cows, wash goats etc. 15-Minute Craft: Fun and unique craft to support the subject of the lesson Our Animal Husbandry Show Program designed for returning students or beginners ready to go deeper into the world of farm animals. Students will choose one animal to focus on and build a relationship through hands-on care handling, grooming, and learning basic animal husbandry and showmanship skills. During the final week, students will present their animal in a simple farm-style show to demonstrate handling, grooming, and care.
