Steps Behavioral Analysis Inc.
Provider description
As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, I am trained in the discipline of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The field of ABA is dedicated to systematically applying principles of behavior to improve socially significant behaviors. These applications are commonly used with the autism population and those with other developmental disabilities. As a behavior analyst, I am responsible for assessing patients with behavior issues, collecting data. Working with parents, teachers, counselors and school psychologist to devise a behavior plan for the patient and evaluating the effectiveness of the plan. With more than 10 years of experience as a teacher and as a board-certified behavior analyst, I have a unique combination of experience, knowledge and professional degree that allows me to assess my patients’ behavior needs. While observing patients, I take note of social and developmental behaviors. I conduct observations in settings such as schools, homes, or communities, and I note any difficulties my patient has behaving in these settings. After setting goals for clients, I develop individualized behavior plans. Using applied behavior analysis, these plans aim to guide my client toward changed behavior. I communicate frequently with teachers, families, and staff about the needs of my clients. I inform them of behavior plans and goals for my clients, and we discuss clients’ progress.
