Hey y'all! I'm Janelle, your not-so-average History teacher. I believe in making learning hands-on and engaging for my middle school students. As an Alabama accredited teacher with edTPA certification, I bring a strong educational background to my classes. I hold a BA in Political Science with a concentration in Comparative Politics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as well as an M.Ed. in Secondary Social Sciences from the University of Montevallo. I teach a wide range of historical subjects, including comparative governments, world and US history. I facilitate meaningful discussions that encourage students to think critically, analyze historical contexts, and form their own well-informed opinions. My aim is to empower them to delve into the lessons we can glean from the past and comprehend the profound relevance of history in shaping our lives today. I love adding a fun twist to my history classes, making learning an enjoyable experience for my learners. It's like sneaking your child's medicine into their sippy cup – they drink it without even realizing it's there!
