Hands-On Culinary Creations provides high-quality, hands-on culinary education designed to build confidence, independence, and real-world life skills in students. Led by a certified culinary instructor with nine years of teaching experience and a consistent “Highly Effective” rating, our programs serve middle and high school students of all ability levels. Classes are held in a fully equipped kitchen classroom at Lawton Chiles High School, offering students a safe, structured, and professional learning environment. Instruction is guided by industry standards, and the program is led by a ServSafe Manager-certified instructor, ensuring a strong emphasis on food safety and sanitation. Through engaging, experiential learning, students develop essential culinary skills including knife skills, cooking techniques, baking fundamentals, and kitchen safety. Lessons are designed to support diverse learners, including those who benefit from step-by-step instruction, hands-on practice, and visual modeling. Hands-On Culinary Creations aligns with the goals of the Step Up for Students scholarship program by providing enrichment opportunities that promote practical skill development, career exploration, and increased student confidence. Our program supports college and career readiness while helping students build lifelong skills they can apply at home and beyond.
