Reading & Spelling SOS provides structured, evidence-based reading and spelling intervention for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities who qualify for the Step Up For Students scholarship programs. Instruction is delivered using the Barton Reading & Spelling System, a research-based, Orton–Gillingham–aligned program, under the direction of a Master-Certified Barton tutor. Services support K–12 students who struggle with decoding, spelling, and written language, including students enrolled in public, private, charter, and homeschool settings. Tutoring is individualized, multisensory, and systematic, and may be provided in person or virtually, depending on student need and scholarship guidelines. Instruction focuses on remediating underlying reading difficulties to improve literacy skills, academic access, and long-term educational outcomes.
