Product description

Human Body Discovery & Dissect – A Year Inside the Human Body Hands-on anatomy and biology that actually makes sense This is one of those programs we wish we’d had as students—and it’s hands down one of our most loved resources in our own homeschool. Human Body Discovery & Dissect is a full, one-year anatomy curriculum built around real understanding, not memorization. Every unit is deeply hands-on, genuinely fascinating, and designed to show students how the body really works . We created this curriculum alongside doctors and surgeons , and it shows. Instead of abstract diagrams, students build models, run labs, test “urine,” create pumping hearts, explore vision loss, and follow real blood flow through actual organs. There is a lot of deep learning here—but kids don’t experience it as heavy because the activities are so engaging and concrete. Science days quickly become the highlight of the week in our house. Although it was written for middle and high school , we’ve been amazed by how well it works across ages because of its hands-on nature. Older students extend their learning with the writing, analysis, and systems thinking, younger learners absorb the concepts through the labs and models. Families, co-ops, and schools consistently tell us this is the best science they’ve ever used . What This Program Includes This comprehensive curriculum is made up of six sequential boxes , each focused on a specific organ system. Boxes may be purchased all at once or as a 6-month subscription . Box 1 – Learning to Dissect Students learn proper dissection skills using a pickle introduction lesson and a worm dissection. A favorite lab compares how worms and humans get oxygen—highlighting diffusion through skin vs. lungs. ✔ Includes the dissection tools and tray used for all future units. Box 2 – The Heart & Circulatory System Students build a working pump to model heart function and valve action, then trace blood flow during a sheep heart dissection using real photo guides. ✔ Includes a stethoscope and Human Body: A Visual Encyclopedia . Box 3 – Kidneys & Urinary System One of our favorite units! Students make “blood” with beads, filter it to create “urine,” diagnose patients using fake urine samples, and explore dialysis using a full-size water filtration system . ✔ Culminates in a sheep kidney dissection . Box 4 – The Eye & Vision Students build a model eye and experience vision impairments firsthand using special glasses that simulate cataracts, tunnel vision, and legal blindness. ✔ Ends with a cow eye dissection (very similar to the human eye). Box 5 – The Brain & Nervous System This unit is packed with unforgettable labs: making a jello brain, building a brain hat, creating an electric neuron circuit, and testing reaction time. ✔ Includes a sheep brain dissection and a National Geographic Brain Games book. Box 6 – Frog & Whole Body Systems Students dissect a frog to see how systems work together, compare organs using a full-size squishy human body , explore frog slime and hearing, and build layered organ models. ✔ A powerful synthesis of everything learned. Every Box Includes • Thoughtful, easy-to-follow lesson guides • Hands-on labs and experiments (2–4 per unit) • A real specimen for dissection • Pictorial, step-by-step dissection guides • Virtual dissections to complete before hands-on work • Fun fact cards and matching anatomy cards • A full-size model, tool, or book • Coloring sheets and engaging extras • Video lessons and/or online activities Bonus (First Month): Dissection tools & pan Bonus (Program): Digestive System Apron All specimens are professionally preserved and remain usable for at least one year . Why Families Love It • Deep anatomy learning that doesn’t feel overwhelming • Real labs that make abstract systems click • Strong preparation for advanced biology • Works beautifully across a wide age range • Builds confidence, curiosity, and scientific thinking If you’re looking for anatomy that goes far beyond worksheets—and truly shows students how their bodies work— Human Body Discovery & Dissect is an unforgettable journey through biology. This is science that sticks. Note: Recommended for ages 10+ . Ideal for families, co-ops, and classrooms. Available as a one-time purchase or a 6-month subscription .
