Product description
NFC Academy’s Homeschool Basics Program for high school is designed for families who want full independence in directing their student’s coursework. The program uses the same high-quality online curriculum as our accredited programs; however, Homeschool Basics is not accredited, includes no teacher support, and courses are not approved by the NCAA. Parents function as the primary instructors, taking responsibility for teaching, grading, pacing, and academic oversight allowing families to create a school schedule that works best for them. While parents manage the program independently, students are expected to follow the online curriculum as designed and maintain appropriate pacing to meet compulsory attendance requirements. A Path to Graduation will be created by our High School Specialist and sent to the home for review and approval. This ensures students are scheduled for the courses required to complete all credits for high school. The information below provides a sample schedule for twelfth grade. Students complete six courses their senior year to fulfill the requirements of a full high school program. Common courses selected for twelfth grade include Christian Faith and Living, Government and Economics, English IV, and either Pre-Calculus or another appropriate math course. Students also complete a science or elective option—such as Physics—along with a final course chosen from French II, Spanish II, or another elective that supports their academic goals. These suggested courses may be adjusted when prerequisites are not required, allowing flexibility based on previously earned credits or individual planning. Homeschool Basics provides parents with full control over daily instruction while offering students a strong, structured curriculum. The program is designed for families who prefer to manage their student’s academic progress independently while ensuring continuity and consistency throughout the high school years.
