Learners explore American literature while building skills in reading literature, reading nonfiction, writing, and speaking and listening aligned to Common Core standards. Lessons emphasize citing textual evidence, character analysis, theme and main idea identification, and interpreting structure and point of view. Writing assignments cover argument, informative/explanatory, and narrative genres. Course activities include discussions, digital media projects, and public speaking practice. Sparky, an AI tutor, offers personalized guidance and feedback. This is the Accredited version, which awards an official transcript and credit. The course is built for independent learning and is not teacher graded—parents can review answer keys, grade assignments, and provide feedback. A Mentor Teacher option is available for instructor grading and support.</p>
