Product description

Forensic Science Half Year

Fingerprints. Blood spatter. DNA analysis. The world of law enforcement is increasingly making use of scientific methods to both better understand crimes and catch those responsible. Forensic Science seeks to guide students into an understanding of God?s desire for both justice and mercy as they investigate the order and design in creation that enables crime scene investigation (CSI). The course introduces the most important skills and techniques used by forensic scientists during an investigation. Starting with how clues and data are recorded and preserved, students follow evidence trails until the CSI goes to trial, examining how various elements of the crime scene are analyzed and processed in court. Students examine some of the basic scientific principles and knowledge that guide forensic laboratory processes, such as DNA testing, toxicology, and material analysis. Techniques such as microscopy, chromatography, odontology, entomology, mineralogy, and spectroscopy are also examined. And along the way, students continue to discover divine design and order in creation, as well as how evidence can uncover both evil intentions and godly pursuits.

This course can be either the first half or second half of the traditional full-year course. Recommended grade level: 9th-10th-11th-12th grade
