Product description

The Dimensions Math 4A Textbook follows Singapore Math methodology with a structured four-part lesson design. Each lesson begins with Think sections where students explore problems using multiple solution methods with teacher guidance, followed by Learn segments presenting formal solutions and definitions. Do activities provide varied practice for discussion and independent work, while Exercise sections link to corresponding workbook problems. This 232-page, full-color textbook progresses through nine chapters: Numbers to Millions, Addition and Subtraction, Multiples and Factors, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Multiplying a Fraction and a Whole Number, and Line Graphs and Line Plots. The curriculum emphasizes word problems throughout and uses manipulatives alongside pictorial and abstract representations to build conceptual understanding.

Designed for the first semester of fourth grade, the textbook includes periodic practice sections for ongoing consolidation and two cumulative reviews integrating all concepts covered. The program requires three components for complete instruction: this textbook for concept introduction and discussion, a corresponding workbook (sold separately) for independent practice, and either a Home Instructor's Guide or Teacher's Guide for lesson planning and teaching support. Both 4A and 4B materials are necessary for a full school year of instruction.
