Product description

The Dimensions Math 7A Textbook brings Singapore Math methodology to seventh-grade mathematics through a semester-based curriculum. This first-semester textbook guides students through factors and multiples, real numbers, introductory algebra, algebraic manipulation, simple equations in one variable, ratio, rate and speed, percentages, angles, triangles, and quadrilaterals. Each chapter opens with real-world scenarios that contextualize the mathematics before presenting worked examples paired with "Try It!" problems for immediate comprehension checks.

The instructional design features carefully scaffolded practice levels that progressively deepen understanding. Basic Practice questions build fundamental skills, Further Practice applies concepts in more challenging contexts, and Math@Work integrates multiple concepts into practical situations. Brainworks sections present open-ended problems requiring higher-order analytical thinking. Class Activities introduce concepts through hands-on exploration (adaptable for independent work), while "In a Nutshell" summary pages consolidate key formulas and rules. "Extend Your Learning Curve" sections offer investigative projects beyond the core curriculum.

For a complete school year, both the 7A (first semester) and 7B (second semester) materials are required. Each grade level requires the Textbook, Workbook, Teaching Notes and Solutions, and Workbook Solutions as essential components. The answer key in the textbook covers Try It! problems and all exercise questions (Basic Practice, Further Practice, Math@Work, and Brainworks) but excludes Class Activities and Extend Your Learning Curve activities. Complete solutions appear in the separate Teaching Notes and Solutions manual.
