Product description
<p>This is an advanced self-paced course in the study of carbon-containing compounds. The first half of the self-paced course emphasizes various functional groups, their nomenclature and common reactions. An introduction to reaction mechanisms, synthesis, and stereochemistry are also included. The second half of the self-paced course will focus on organic compounds found in living organisms, including proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. A self-paced course for the serious student who is interested in pursuing a major in the sciences at the undergraduate level. An online lab is included. </p><br><p>Minimum age of 15 on the first day of class. Successful completion of VSA Chemistry or comparable course in the previous 24 months is strongly encouraged. </p>
