Students are encouraged to think critically about health-related topics particularly those about which there is conflicting information in the media and will practice evaluating the credibility of sources. Course topics include mental health stress anatomy the systems of the body reproduction and sexuality nutrition relationships drugs and alcohol diseases and personal safety.</p><p>In addition students will be actively engaged in a physical fitness program throughout the year that will help them develop strength flexibility and cardiovascular fitness.</p><p>Recommended for grades 9 – 12 with the understanding that sexuality and sexual health is part of the course</p><p>The course is inclusive in terms of gender identities LGBTQ communities birth control and related topics.</p><p> </p>
