Product description

NFC Academy’s Homeschool Basics Program for high school is designed for families who want complete independence in managing their student’s coursework. Homeschool Basics uses the same high-quality online curriculum as our accredited programs; however, this program itself is not accredited, does not include teacher support, and courses are not approved by the NCAA. The parent assumes full responsibility for teaching, grading, pacing, and academic guidance. Homeschool Basics is an asynchronous program, allowing families to plan schoolwork around their own schedule. While parents direct the program independently, students are expected to follow the online curriculum as designed and maintain appropriate pacing to meet compulsory attendance requirements. Like all of our high school programs, a Path to Graduation will be created by our High School Specialist and sent to the home for review and approval. This plan ensures each student is scheduled for the courses needed to complete all required credits for graduation. The information below provides a sample schedule for ninth grade, giving families an idea of how a first-year high school plan may look within Homeschool Basics. Students typically take six courses each year to stay on track for completing a full high school program. Common ninth-grade courses include New Testament Survey, English I, Algebra I, Earth Science, Physical Education/Health, Speech, Business Computer, and Foundations for Living. These courses offer a standard starting point, and families may adjust selections when no prerequisite is required. Homeschool Basics allows parents complete freedom to manage daily instruction while still providing a structured, college-preparatory curriculum. It is designed for families who prefer to oversee their student’s academic progress independently while ensuring the student follows a consistent educational pathway through high school.
