<p>Using curriculum developed by VSA and the WORLD News Group, students in this Composition I self-paced course will learn to handle longer writing assignments including a multi-paragraph description, a persuasive essay analyzing two sides of an issue, a biographical essay, a fictional narrative, and a short story. Evaluation will focus on the development of ideas/content, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, and presentation. Some basic review of grammar is included, but mastery of basic sentence structure, punctuation, and capitalization is expected for this self-paced course. Students who need more work on grammar and/or who are not comfortable writing a 5-paragraph essay on a familiar subject should consider Grammar and Writing Transition before this self-paced course is taken. </p><br><p>Minimum age of 12 on the first day of class.
