Product description
NFC Academy’s Homeschool Basics Program for high school is designed for families who want complete independence in managing their student’s coursework. The program uses the same high-quality online curriculum as our accredited programs; however, Homeschool Basics is not accredited, includes no teacher support, and courses are not approved by the NCAA. Parents serve as the primary instructors, taking full responsibility for teaching, grading, pacing, and academic guidance. Homeschool Basics is an asynchronous program, giving families the flexibility to plan schoolwork around their own schedule. While parents guide the program independently, students are expected to follow the online curriculum as designed and maintain consistent pacing to meet compulsory attendance requirements. Like all of our high school programs, a Path to Graduation will be created by our High School Specialist and sent to the home for review and approval. This ensures the student is scheduled for the courses needed to meet all graduation requirements. The information below provides a sample eleventh-grade schedule. Students take six courses each year to stay on track for completing their high school program. Common courses for eleventh grade include Bible Doctrines, American History, English III, Algebra II, and Chemistry or another approved science course. A sixth course is typically selected from options such as French I or II, Spanish I or II, or another elective that fits the student’s academic goals. These suggested courses may be adjusted when no prerequisite is required, allowing flexibility based on previously earned credits or individual planning. Homeschool Basics provides parents with full control over daily instruction while offering students a strong, structured curriculum. It is designed for families who prefer to manage their student’s academic progress independently while maintaining a consistent and effective pathway toward high school completion.
