Product description
Expected to ship mid-late July. This collection celebrates the rich musical contributions of Black composers and the enduring influence of African American musical traditions on music around the world. The 12 arrangements in this songbook are presented chronologically, tracing the evolution of these traditions from folk songs and spirituals to ragtime, blues, and jazz. Along the way, students explore music that has shaped generations of performers, composers, and musical styles. Created for singing, hand-signs, bells, Boomwhackers®, piano, and more, each arrangement helps students build musicianship while experiencing an important part of our shared musical heritage. We hope this collection inspires meaningful musical experiences and a deeper appreciation for the composers, traditions, and stories behind these timeless songs. It has been our privilege to research and arrange this music for the Prodigies community.
