Through hands-on projects paired with deeper historical context, students explore how power, movement, and innovation influenced the nation’s development.</p><p> The second semester of this course guides students through imperial rivalry, revolution, westward expansion, and civil war. Students analyze how competing interests, technological change, and political conflict reshaped the United States while considering the perspectives of Indigenous nations, settlers, and enslaved and free people.</p><p> Designed for young adult learners, this semester emphasizes historical analysis, cause-and-effect reasoning, and engagement with complex ideas. Students are encouraged to connect individual experiences to larger historical patterns and consequences.</p><h3>Boxes Included in the Second Semester</h3><ul> <li> <strong>Empire & Independence</strong> – French and Indian War, American Revolution, and Missions </li> <li> <strong>Expansion & Conflict</strong> – Lewis and Clark, Going West, and Civil War </li></ul><p> Our Second Semester American History Curriculum includes six individual boxes, each with its own lesson plan, curated reading list, and educator resources designed to support independent study and discussion.</p><p> <em>Please view our FAQs for additional general information.
