<p><b>Elementary Technology Grade K</b></p> <p>The Elementary Technology Grade K course starts with a discussion on the biblical perspective of technology, as students learn how to honor God while using technology. Students learn about the invention of computers and explore the wide variety of places and ways that computers are used, including ways technology is used in various workplaces. Students also discover ways technology can be used to help grow their spiritual lives. Students learn to physically handle electronic devices cautiously and responsibly, as they learn what it means to be good stewards of God?s creation. Students also begin to learn block-based coding in offline environments. In addition to computer skills, Elementary Technology Grade K integrates standards from social studies, health, and language arts with topics about safety and health and being a responsible Christlike citizen, both on- and offline. Students learn how to respond biblically when they experience bullying/cyberbullying, to display integrity, to balance their activities so they have time to obey Jesus? greatest commandments, and to pray when searching for solutions to problems. Collaboration and communication are also focused on, as integrated language arts and math practice standards are found throughout the course.</p> <p><i>This course is considered a full-year course. Recommended grade level: Kindergarten.</i></p>
