<p><b>Elementary Spanish Level 1</b></p> <p>In Elementary Spanish Level 1, students learn about the Spanish culture and language, learning the target language in a story-based framework. This course focuses on beginning listening and speaking skills, taught through audio and visual stimuli for all learning types. Students learn about the history, culture, and topography of Spain, including important holidays and festivals; and are introduced to the different cities and regions, dances, and ethnic dishes of Spanish culture. Vocabulary topics include greetings, numbers 1?20, clothing, weather, parts of the body, and activities and holidays. Through Bible readings and slideshows, students also learn about managing emotions, using time wisely, the importance of community and celebrating Christian holidays, a Christian view of music and art, the importance of living sacrificially, and understanding the different names of God.</p> <p><i>This is a full year course. Recommended grade level: 1st grade</i></p>
