We are a hands on Montessori tutoring program that specializes in learning to read, phonics and reading comprehension for ages 3.5-10. FISHHAWK KIDS LEARN 2 READ uses The Montessori reading curriculum. This curriculum has three essential components: A strong foundation in phonics, comprehension based on visualization, and whole language, or learning to read for meaning and using context clues. We offer weekly semi-private lessons ($45 per session) and small group classes that vary from ($749-$899). These classes provide a hands-on, real world experience to reading. We begin with proper sound awareness and quickly move to phonemes, rhyming, memorization and reading. The Montessori approach uses a distinct set of practices that nurture a positive, natural learning experience to teach reading and writing. Our curriculum is thoughtfully built around teaching children the many elements of reading and writing one by one, in a way accessible to and enjoyable by a child.
