As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, licensed childcare facility, and social circus, the Gainesville Circus Center (GCC) utilizes circus arts as a tool to champion creativity and community engagement. Social circus practitioners support participants as powerful change makers through the collective development of self-esteem, solidarity, and trust. Myriad studies show circus arts have the power to build strength on physical, emotional and mental levels and to promote cross-cultural and inter-generational collaboration. From aerial silks to trapeze to group acrobatics, Gainesville Circus Center is dedicated to teaching circus arts to anyone willing and interested in learning for the purpose of bettering their physical, mental, social and spiritual self. The Gainesville Circus Center welcomes both recreational and professionally-minded students and offers a wide range of classes in aerial arts, juggling, stilting, world dance, acrobatics, flying trapeze, equestrian arts, and more. GCC also provides extensive youth programming, such as toddler time, afterschool circus, kids’ classes, camps, and performance opportunities, encouraging children to build confidence through creative exploration.
