Ama's Yellow Schoolhouse is a small, nature-based part-time preschool and homeschool enrichment program for children ages 4–7 in DeLand, Florida. We offer intimate groups of just 8 children in a cozy home environment with a large backyard garden. Our program blends Montessori-inspired independence and Waldorf-inspired creativity with rich, hands-on experiences including gardening, cooking, art, music, science, and practical life skills. We emphasize imagination, nature connection, social-emotional growth, and a genuine love of learning in a screen-free setting with wholesome homemade snacks. We specialize in supporting homeschool families by providing a joyful enrichment space for younger children while giving parents dedicated time to work with older siblings or take a break. School-age children must be participating in parent-directed education (either traditional home education or as PEP scholarship students). We are not a full homeschool program but serve as a supportive supplement. With small groups, daily outdoor time, and personalized attention, we create a warm, family-like atmosphere where children thrive.
