Horizon Academy is a modern-day one-room schoolhouse that offers Personalized-student-centered learning in small groups. We believe that small scale is the future of education which allows for a differentiated instruction to fit each learners’ needs and learning styles. Our classroom curriculum also aligns with the state standards but allows learners to move at their own pace. This is possible because we do not have the pressure of standardized testing! We create an environment where learners can continue to feel challenged and creative by incorporating project, community, and social-emotional based learning. Using these non-traditional methods, it engages learners to be creative, fun, and develop problem-solving skills. Our mission is to offer families an alternative program that defies a “one size fits all” education.
