I provide reading support for struggling readers using a structured, phonics-based approach designed to build strong, confident readers from the ground up. I specialize in working with children from Pre-K through 2nd grade, but I can work with older children as well. My primary method of instruction is through engaging, pre-recorded virtual lessons that allow families to learn at their own pace and revisit concepts as needed. These lessons are carefully designed to build foundational skills step-by-step, helping children truly understand how reading works, not just memorize words. I use techniques from the Orton-Gillingham methodology to ensure that concepts truly stick and can be applied when reading real text. This approach is multisensory, explicit, and systematic—giving students the tools they need to become confident, independent readers. Instruction includes essential early literacy skills such as letter recognition, letter sound recognition, and understanding vowels and consonants. As students progress, they learn blending, closed and open syllables, silent e, vowel teams, digraphs, diphthongs, trigraphs, r-controlled vowels, and irregular spellings, along with other key reading patterns needed for fluency and comprehension. I provide LIMITED live 1 on 1 sessions in person or via zoom. For additional support, I offer scheduled Zoom sessions where students can receive extra help and ask questions.
