The South Florida HEAT (Home Education Athletic Teams) is a Christian based, FHSAA accredited, not-for-profit organization working with homeschooling families toward growing tomorrow’s servant-leaders through learning and applying life-lessons available from the competitive interscholastic athletic arena. We are directly witnessing the growth of HEAT student-athletes in such areas as: Leadership Teamwork Competitive maturity Sportsmanship Respect for others, including authority Communication skills Problem solving skills Building self-esteem and self-confidence Community service Social development The South Florida HEAT student-athletes are also utilizing the powerful platform of athletics to engage in service projects that positively impact some of our community’s most significant needs. Services for the infirmed, underprivileged, and addressing the animal overpopulation problem here in South Florida, are just a few of the ways that we positively impact our community. We welcome you to find out more about the South Florida HEAT as a social, spiritual, and athletic home. The South Florida Home Education Athletic Teams was established in 2004. Accredited by the FSHAA soon after, the HEAT was created to make it possible for homeschooled kids to participate and compete against public and private schools. The South Florida HEAT started with a Track and Field team of about twenty kids in 2005 and now has over 100 athletes. It's grown from 1 sport to a multi-sport organization.
