Butterfly Cooperative School was originally established in 1981 from a neighborhood playgroup. The school is staffed entirely by parents. We work together as a group to create a school environment for our children so they can experience both social and educational benefits. Parents working together helps keep our tuition affordable. All classes under 6yrs old are taught by parents whose child is enrolled in the class. A rotating schedule is the norm, where one parent is the primary teacher and another is the assistant. The curriculum to follow is chosen at the beginning of the school year, however parents are free to add activities related to the corresponding theme. We serve children from 2-11 years old.
