Signature Learning provides instruction in foundational Reading and Math skills to support the development of literacy for Kinder thru 5th grade students with emerging to chronic academic difficulties. The goal is to implement best practices and high quality instruction to meet student needs, focused on individualized direct instruction. Signature Learning aims to implement interactive differentiated instruction to support critical thinking, comprehension, build self-esteem, improve communication skills, foster independence, improve effort (growth mindset), and build a supportive learning environment. The overall goal is to support the development of lifelong learners through building literacy skills. Systematic and intentional instruction is the key to meaningful and comprehensive skill building. Providing learning opportunities focused on the development of phonemic and phonological awareness, and phonics will be a major focus of instructional practices to engage students in building foundational reading skills. Scientifically and researched based materials will be used to ensure students practice essential skills to build strong literacy for future reading success. Word, rhyme, onset-rime and syllable awareness will be embedded in the instructional process to engage learners in structured literacy opportunities to aid comprehension.
