Music & Me provides both private instrument lessons for children and adults and family-style early childhood music classes for children birth through age five and their loving grownups. Family classes use a combination of song, movement and instrument play playfully presented over a 45 minute class period to support a child's cognitive, language, motor, social/emotional and musical development. The program is based in over 35 years of ongoing research in early childhood development. Teachers have educational backgrounds in music and early development. Families take home the curriculum in the form of a picture-filled songbook and a download code used in a free app to stream the music at home. The program runs through a non-sequential three-year cycle at the completion of which, most children have achieved the ability to sing in tune and hold a steady beat. Classes use a playful, adult-modeled, child-led style of learning to support children's learning at every age and stage.
