Notebook your way through your state's history with this unit study! Most U.S. states require homeschoolers to complete a study of their state’s history in or around 4th grade. Now you have the option to meet that requirement in true Sonlight style with our brand-new 50 States Unit Study! Scheduled once a week for 36 weeks this study of your state and its history includes the title The 50 States along with a 3-hole punched Instructor's Guide, and blank template pages to create your very own State History Notebook. Note: This product is not specific to any state. It is designed to be used no matter where you live in the U.S. You decide what state to study and the Instructor’s Guide provides the instruction to build a state history notebook for your chosen state. This Unit Study provides enough material for a single state. To use this Unit Study for multiple states, copy the included template pages (per the Sonlight copyright rules —copies can be made by the original purchaser only, for their immediate family use) for each state you choose to study. Take a look at what's inside: Instructor's Guide The Instructor's Guide schedules reading and activities and includes blank template pages that your student will use to build a state history notebook. Your student can choose their home state or any state! It is designed to be used no matter where you live in the U.S. If you have multiple children doing this study together, feel free to make copies of the template pages (for your family’s use only) so that each student can create their own notebook. Hands-On Activities With this hands-on unit study your children will notebook their way through your state’s history. The activities engage your student with what they are studying and reinforce all the fascinating details they are learning. Children will explore their state firsthand by creating a personalized notebook of maps, pictures, timelines, and a unique travel guide to share with friends and family. Activities include: Vocabulary development Map work Art projects Research Writing – state book report, bibliography Timeline creation Field trips State Travel Guide project And much more! State History Notebook This unit study is designed to walk each student through a series of weekly reading and activities where they will learn about their state's ancestors, cultural heritage, events, key facts and figures in their chosen state's history.
